Sikkim is the only organic state in India and hence, a perfect idea of a farm vacation can only be complete when you get your hands on organic farming. Thankfully, our farm lies in the rural belt of Sikkim, which provides a fantastic opportunity for our guests to engage in or experience organic farming. Furthermore, one of our prime motives is to give guests a small tour of our farm, show you what we grow, encourage you to collect harvest and try out the different types of fruits by plucking it straight from the tree itself. Fortunately, we are blessed to have this beautiful land in which literally everything grows, including some exotic fruits and veggies.
There are a wide variety of fruits that grow in our farm such as Walnut, Guava, Peach, Tamarillo, Mandarin orange, Apple, Sugarcane, Nepalese Hogplum, Avocardo, Passion Fruit, etc. Surprising, isn’t it? We just keep planting new saplings and we have been successful so far. Therefore, we would like to show you all that. Guests can get involved in farming and learn the processes involved in growing food organically. Guests can also learn the terraced farming method of cultivation of rice and other veggies. Our farm area has many villagers who rear cows and goats. A small walk through the village to the cow rearers can help you gain a lot of knowledge about the milking process, etc.
The organic farm tour will enhance your overall knowledge of the rural farm life of the mountain folks. Besides, there is nothing like harvesting naturally grown veggies and fruits straight from the plant.
Picnic by the stream and waterfall
We are fortunate to have a stream running just by the end of the property that is fed by a beautiful waterfall. It is here that we arrange for a picnic for the guests where lunch is made in a wood fire and served next to the stream. So if you are one of those adventurous types who wish to hike and have an outdoor lunch prepared in a natural environment near the stream, you can have your wish come true. (Charges applicable and on prior request)
Village walk and nature walk:
(Guide charges applicable) You can go hiking to a stream near the property. The stream is fed by some beautiful waterfalls that will leave you amazed. You can just take a dip in it and relax. There are many hiking areas around the farm. You can also go on a village walk and get to know the local culture. By doing so, you get to experience the rich and diverse vegetation of Sikkim through these walks.
Birdwatching:
(Guide charges applicable) Our farm is a haven for birdwatchers. The farm is blessed with a beautiful avian population such as Magpie, Great Barbet, Red-vented Bulbul, Himalayan Buzzard, Redstart, Flycatcher, etc. You can spot them in their natural habitat and undisturbed right from the cottage. Early mornings and evenings are the best time to spot these beautiful birds. Bird-watching tours can be arranged upon prior request.
BonfireWe can also arrange for BBQ and bonfire. Sit near the bonfire, sing, eat and enjoy and as you look up, you see stars gazing at you beautifully. You can fulfill your stargazing dream with breathtaking views of the night sky with the bonfire, esp. in winters.
